Intersection: One of the Most Beautiful Ways of Remembering
Skills:Micro Documentary, Non-Profit, Profiles, Web Series
Kevin Chen, Art Program Director for Intersection for the Arts shares a story of a saturday afternoon encounter with a young man while gallery sitting. What kind of difference can art make? Sometimes, it is “One of the most beautiful ways of remembering”… Part of a series called Stories for the Intersection.
Intersection for the Arts is San Francisco’s oldest alternative non-profit art space. For nearly 50 years, Intersection for the Arts has activated space and time for people to come together to imagine new cultural experiments that aim to transform our world. In 2011 Intersection for the Arts moved to its new home at 5th and Mission, also known as 5M. To celebrate this move and help capture in video the kind of impact Intersection has in the community, we developed a video series called Stories from Intersection that would present an organizational story of what Intersection for the Arts is, as told by the people it impacts, and the values it is driven by, and also demonstrate in short vignette modular stories why art matters.
