One Billion Rising for Justice

One Billion Rising is the largest annual global uprising to end violence against women, girls, and gender-fluid people. Launched in 2012, it calls on people around the world to rise every February through dance, art and collective action.

In 2014, the theme was One Billion Rising for Justice — a call for women, girls, non-binary people and allies to gather in the very places where justice is too often denied: courthouses, police stations, schools, workplaces, embassies, places of worship, homes and public streets. From over 200 countries, people rose through dance, art, ritual, song, testimony, and marches — breaking silence, reclaiming space, and speaking truths long buried by patriarchal systems.

Cinemagical Media was commissioned to create the official 2014 One Billion Rising for Justice highlight video. As director and editor, we shaped the story from hundreds of hours of global footage into a cinematic heartbeat of the movement — fierce, unflinching, and unstoppable.

This is what justice looks like.
